Where I come from the river splits our town into Idaho and Washington, and jet boating is a massive deal. Growing up we were always on the river in Hells Canyon. Around 12-years-old is when I started bumming rides on stand ups. Shortly after getting my own Super Jet, riding the rapids became a craving, and the addiction quickly persisted. As I started looking for aftermarket parts for my ski, I happened to roll upon the sport of freeride. After riding in the ocean for the first time at 16-years-old, freeride jet skiing became a large part of my life. When I was 22  I decided to go a different path in the sport and changed to flatwater Freestyle. Living in Lake Havasu, AZ now, it's the perfect place for it. Switching to this has made a huge impact on my route and what I thought was possible as a female in such a male dominated sport. I have now accomplished being the first female to place top 5 in the world for flatwater freestyle, and plan to continue to push my limits. This is a sport anyone can do if they wanted. Luckily with it being on the water, doing flips and spins has less potential for injuries.
